Designer Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are shoes that have roots in womens' soft ballet slippers. They have very thin heels and sometimes have a ribbon-like binding or slight gathering around the top of the toe box. Ballet flats have been worn since the 16th century, both by men and women. Ballet flats grew in popularity after Audrey Hepburn wore them with skinny jeans in Funny Face in 1957.
